Time to Play

Play and creativity are necessary parts of a balanced lifestyle.

Unfortunately, many people (especially those working full-time) find it difficult to muster the energy for personal creativity. Like many, my free time is filled with consumption: mostly television and reading on my cell phone.

Instead of feeling relaxed after these activities, I often feel drained. In contrast, I feel more energized by creative hobbies like playing music and gardening.

I believe the difference has to do with that happy zone Mihály Csíkszentmihályi called flow; the satisfaction that stems from a balance of challenge, improvement, and a feeling of mastery.

Therefore, I dedicate this blog to making time to play, and building a fulfilling life beyond work.

I hope you will join me on my journey.
